About the Event
We are happy to announce that on Monday, May 10, 2021, the FDA extended the Emergency Use Authorization for Pfizer-Bio N Tech’s COVID-19 vaccine to people ages 12 through 15. Starting Thursday, May 13, 2021, the City is coordinating vaccine distribution. We encourage all staff members who are parents and caregivers to people ages 12 and above to book their appointments at https://vax4nyc.nyc.gov or call 877-VAX4NYC (877-829-4692) or visit any of the available walk-up sites offering the Pfizer-Bio N Tech COVID-19 vaccine. Where vaccines are available, you can also visit your pediatrician’s offices. On Monday, May 10, 2021, perks for receiving a vaccine were announced, effective immediately: The MTA will provide a free 7-day MetroCard or free LIRR/Metro-North round trip ticket to people getting vaccinated at newly announced transit pop-up sites. The City will also offer free tickets to the NYC Aquarium, Botanical Garden, Bronx Zoo, NYC Ferry, offer Cyclones concessions, and more. Some tickets will be available on-site at pop-up vaccination sites.
Our school will be holding the COVID 19 vaccine information session in collaboration with the Mt. Sinai clinic on Tuesday, May 18th, at 6 pm for parents and caregivers. This is an excellent opportunity to get information, ask questions, or share your concerns with the health professional who is not paid or representing any political organization. Our staff members will also share their experiences with the vaccination and why they made a choice.
